MEET THE INSTRUCTOR
Horse riding videos are the latest in an interesting and varied career for LISA B. BLACKSTONE. She is a life long horse owner, breeder, judge and national champion rider. She takes her experience as an equestrian, an attorney and most importantly, a mother, to introduce the fundamentals of horsemanship through the use of video tutorials designed for children.
Her education and experience spans a wide range of interests and hobbies. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. She transitioned into the financial world as a stockbroker and gained experience working with small businesses and private investors.
Lisa began a family-owned and operated Arabian horse training and breeding business. Bringing her expertise in corporate finance to the horse business, she developed limited partnerships and stallion syndications for investors.
Additionally, she competed on a national level in horse show competitions and earned national honors as an equestrian. Lisa engaged in the political process governing the Arabian horse industry and served as a Director on the Board of the International Arabian Horse Association for many years.
She was elected to serve on the Ethical Practices Review Board, a hearing panel adjudicating allegations of rule infractions by members within the industry. During her ten years on this panel, Lisa served as Vice-Chairman for six years, hearing cases involving violations from horse abuse to fraud, embezzlement, theft, and bribery.
Lisa received her license to judge horse shows in 1994 and continues to judge competitions internationally.
She also serves as Trustee on the USA Equestrian Trust as well as Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the United States Equestrian Federation, formerly the American Horse Shows Association.
Lisa received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Georgia School of Law and has her own practice in the Atlanta, Georgia area. She is a founding member of the Equine Section of the Georgia Bar where she merges her legal expertise with her wealth of knowledge of the horse industry. She represents many of Atlanta’s top equestrian facilities, trainers and horse owners.
She conceived and created The Horse And Rider Club, a website designed to teach children and their parents all about horses and horsemanship through the use of horse riding videos. She also has over 30 blogs on the internet dedicated to different horse related topics and is the president of the American Horse Association.
Lisa hosts the Horse And Rider Radio Show in Atlanta, Georgia, a radio show devoted to discussions about horses, kids and the horse business. She helps people get started the right way as they venture into the horse business, saving them time and money in the process!
